Rim to River is a walking project that plots the famous grand canyon trails, South Kaibob and Bright Angel. Starting on the South Kaibob trail and descending into the canyon to the colorado river, and connecting with the Bright Angel trail to ascend back to the rim. The photographs were made to reflect a pedestrian experience one might have while walking from the South Kaibob and Bright Angel Trails. Unbiased and neutral are controversial concepts within contemporary photography, however my approach is similar to early Swiss Design, that utilized "objective photography", style characteristics and design elements that were meant to present information clearly (without any of the persuading elements of advertising/propaganda). My intention was to document as much of the peripheral landscape as I could, interventions that were accessible and easily visible from the trail.
